We Provide Sustainable Energy Services

Bob Piva Roofing, (Energy Services or Windows/Doors and Solar) offers’ a full menu of energy services. In partnership with Pure Sustainable Home Inc. we look at the current energy use conditions of the home or business and produce a recommendation list for the property. This list identifies what steps can be taken to reduce waste and inefficiency, while at the same time providing a healthy home environment. With this comprehensive approach, we offer the highest efficiency, highest value, energy system components for our customers.

> Roof Mounted Solar Systems

There are many advantages of installing a rooftop solar system.

Attractive Investment
The economics of rooftop solar are becoming increasingly attractive for both commercial and residential customers. The cost of rooftop solar, after available state and federal incentives, generate well over a 10% return on investment, with returns around 20% not uncommon.

Access to Sunlight
Because the roof surface is generally located above the “shade line” for trees and adjacent structures, this surface can offer virtually unobstructed access to available solar energy.

Low Cost Solar Real Estate
Because rooftops are already serving a functional purpose by keeping water out of buildings and helping generate economic value in the form of occupancy or rent, their use as a platform to generate solar energy is generally much less expensive than the acquisition of undeveloped real estate.

Unobtrusive, Secure Location
Because roof surfaces are generally located above the “streetscape” the installation of rooftop solar may not overly impinge on the daily activities and ambience of developed communities. In addition, because roofs offer limited accessibility, rooftop solar systems are inherently easier to secure as compared to ground mounted installations.

Close to the Customer / Close to the Grid
In general, the users of the energy generated by rooftop solar are located directly beneath the rooftop, reducing transmission and operating costs. In addition, because rooftop solar is generally located directly with the current developed electric grid, no new transmission lines or controls are necessary.

> Ground Mounted Solar Systems

These systems are much more common for rural, off-grid systems. They are less common in cities due to lack of space and aesthetic drawbacks (especially roof-ground systems).
Advantages for ground mount solar panel systems include the relative ease of installation and their flexibility in terms of tracking the sun across the sky. Ground mounted solar systems may include an automatic solar tracker which will track the sun across the sky over the course of the year. This can be powered by a self contained external DC motor or can be manually adjusted, typically every three months.

> Commercial

With tax incentives covering up to 50% of your system costs, commercial business owners can substantially increase your profitability.

A solar power system is one on the best business investments you can make. With energy costs increasing yearly an investment in solar can produce a much lower, predictable operating expense. By becoming a green independent energy producer you not only take advantage of the enormous financial gains for your businesses bottom line, but can demonstrate to your customer base and community your company’s commitment to a cleaner, healthier living environment.

> Insulation & Weather Proofing

Atticat

Save up to 20% on energy costs the fast and affordable way

If your home is 10-15 years old, there’s a good chance it’s not as well insulated as it should be. Not having enough insulation results in major energy loss and, whether you realize it or not, your home is constantly leaking energy---especially out of the attic.
Since energy costs are only continuing to rise, it’s a smart idea to protect your home against these rising expenses. A well-insulated home can significantly reduce the cost of utility bills throughout the year.

Act today. Start saving tomorrow.

The insulating performance of all insulation products is measured by a common standard referred to as the R-value. R-value measures resistance to heat flow and is usually determined by the thickness of the insulation. The higher the R-value, the greater the insulating power. By adding insulation to your attic, you can:
• Save up to 20% on your home’s heating and cooling energy costs by insulating and air sealing
• Earn a federal tax credit up to $1,500
• Increase the comfort of your home, especially during the extreme heat of summer and cold of winter
• Increase your home’s resale value

> Solar Powered Attic Vents

solar_attic_vent

Many manufacturers now offer solar powered attic fans to ventilate attics and help keep attics cooler. Solar powered fans rely on a small (typically 10- or 20-watt) solar panel to power a DC motor when the sun is shining. The fans, which exhaust air at a rate of 800 to 1200 cfm, are installed with intake vents (such as soffit and gable vents) to provide high-capacity powered ventilation without electric operating costs. Most vents are mounted high on the roof, near the ridge, and combined with soffit or gable vents for balanced intake and exhaust air streams. Solar powered gable ventilators are also available.

  • Because they cost nothing to operate, solar attic fans are more affordable to operate than conventional powered attic fans.
  • By reducing attic temperature, attic fans can help reduce summertime cooling loads while at the same time providing ventilation without added utility load.

> Energy Saving Whole House Fans

If you can imagine your home baking from the sun all day heating up your home and attic like a giant oven then turning on your whole house fan. Picture a giant vacuum sucking out all the hot air trapped in your home and attic while replacing it with fresh natural cool healthy air. for pennies a hour!Savings, Health

We Provide The Highest Return on Investment

Investments in solar electric systems can make good financial sense depending on a variety of factors including system performance, favorable utility rate structures, electric rates and government incentives. In Southern California we have the right combination of conditions to make solar investments economically attractive, with rates of return of 10% to 25% being quite common. Pure Sustainable Home will provide a detailed financial analysis including:

• Compound Annual Rate of Return
• Cash Flow
• Lifecycle Payback
• Appraisable Resale Value

Using the above analysis methods will help when comparing solar investment to other investment options.
